If you are a human being then Christ’s free gift of salvation is available to you. No matter who you are, what you have done, where you come from or what you think about yourself. Jesus loves you. He loves you so much in fact that He died for you. He willingly handed himself over and took the punishment you and I deserve which is death. He was betrayed, falsely accused, spit on, mocked, scourged beyond recognition, crowned with thorns and finally nailed to the cross amongst criminals because that was what it took to make salvation possible and you were worth it…Not only did he die a horrific death and endure scorn and shame for our sake but after dying He conquered death and resurrected from the dead after three days. He holds the keys to death and hades and He is the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father (God) accept through Jesus Christ. We have all fallen short and need to be saved from the paycheck we receive from our sin which is death.
Wait a moment you might say, everyone dies – even Christians. We all die physical deaths since the flesh nature of mankind was separated from God when our ancestors Adam and Eve sinned against God in the Garden of Eden. This separation continues after death and if you do not accept Christ as Lord of your life before you die the physical death then you will die the second death too which is when, after judgment, death and Hades are thrown into the lake of fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels (demons). All who reject salvation during this life on earth go to death and Hades until judgment day. In death and Hades they are continually separated from God, after Christ’s second coming is when everyone both great and small will stand before God for judgment in accordance with the record of their life . If you accept Christ as your Savior and surrender your life up to Him before you die the physical death then when you die you will go to be with Christ in paradise. You will be saved from the second death because your name will be found in the Book of Life on judgment day and you will live with God for eternity.
God administers salvation by His amazing grace to all who have faith in Him. We have done nothing to deserve salvation and we can not work hard enough or do enough good things to earn it because He is perfect and He is holy and we are not. If you believe in Him and would like to dedicate your life to Him as your Lord then confess this to Him. Acknowledge with your mouth that you have sinned, both specific sins and your state as a sinner before Him. Acknowledge then who He is, speak what you believe, that He is God and that He came to earth, that He died for our sins and rose again conquering death. Invite Him into your life, accept His gift. He will come and live inside of you upon your conversion from darkness to light by the means of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the part of God who helps us. He opens our eyes to see the truth in God’s Word, He helps us see what is right vs wrong and He gives us discernment. He helps us walk on the narrow path which leads to life instead of the wide path which leads to destruction. The Holy Spirit also helps us serve God and we receive gifts for ministry through Holy Spirit of God operating in us. True Christians are vessels for the Spirit of God to share the gospel with others and to edify the body of Christ.
The more Holy Spirit the more God can use you for His kingdom, the more He can use you according the plan He has for your life. Seek Him then with all your heart and with all your soul, follow Him. He is the treasure. You can never seek too much of Him or pursue Him too passionately. He longs to fill you to over flowing with His Spirit and to equip you with spiritual gifts for ministry. You were born to know Him. Don’t follow after the idols and desires of this world but seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. How can you seek Him you may ask or how can you get to know Him and hear Him speak to you? By spending time with Him on a daily basis just like any other relationship! Praying is talking to God, the Lord’s Prayer is a list of what is called index sentences which are topics that Christ gives us to pray for about ourselves and others. Also, reading the Bible is listening to God. His Word is the infallible truth and is living and powerful, sharper than a two edged sword. Confess your new identity as a child of Christ to others, do not be afraid but be bold, you are a new creation in Christ! Be intentional about seeking fellowship with other believers and be careful not to be led astray by false prophets and teachings. Jesus is the light, He is the hope. His spirit lives inside His believers and illuminates our minds to see Him. In Him your faith will grow.
